That Strange Feeling Called 'a Crush' ...

Hey friends... this article had been lying at the bottom of my closet for quite sometime now... Hope you like it :)

I was just wondering the other day when you sort of fall for someone, why its called a crush? The dictionary meaning of the word crush is ‘pressed with violence so as to break, bruise or crumple’. I was thinking when you have a crush, are you supposed to break his bones, bruise his heart or is it because you land up crushing his bank balance & crumple all his feelings?! On the contrary, crush is associated with the beautiful feeling of love or more precisely, when you are on the verge of falling in love with someone, your friends tell you that “you are having a crush on someone”. I spoke to a few friends of mine who are a bit experienced in this matter…. nevertheless, we could not figure out why its called a crush!

 

A crush is someone who gets you all excited, thereby brightening up your face immediately. He brings a smile to your face when you are feeling low and adds a sparkle to your eyes.

You know you are having a crush on someone when your eyes are eagerly waiting someone’s arrival & after you are gifted by his glance, you feel like jumping with joy and you are actually smiling at the walls or at the ceiling. It’s like entering paradise after a sad old empty life.

Although when somebody enters into an engineering college with such a feeling the situation kind of turns chaotic. What engineering actually does to this sweet crazy little feeling is what I would like to share. One can divide the semester into three periods.

# The first period is like living in heaven. You look forward to each day and hope that it is better than the previous one. You simply roam around with the thoughts of him.

# The second one can be called the transition period, when u realize that things are a bit out of place. In the sense that your classmates are busy with their college work & you still can’t stop admiring the greenery around you or staring at the sky.

You feel that what you are feeling is not what you are supposed to feel but you yet can’t stop feeling it. The sweet feeling that used to give you immense pleasure ceases to do so now.

# The last period (… the toughest one) can actually drive you crazy. You are not only loaded with assignments & submissions but also the following semester examinations. You slog reluctantly…. u crib & u cry & where is that cute feeling that you felt you are going to cherish forever...? It’s disappeared!!!

But hold it, this feeling is revived right after you have dragged yourself through your examinations & then you’re back to square one.

Hey!!! Who’s that? I think I’ll have to keep my pen down coz I saw him pass by ;)
